Bonn, 01/03/16: The time is right for municipal reforms in Morocco. Regionalization and the strengthening of decentralized administrative structures is up on the political reform agenda. A new law on regionalization leads to a transfer of competences from the central to the region level. New participatory instruments are being introduced.
However, the existing administrative structures are insufficiently equipped for the expansion of competences. In the March edition of the association magazine of the Deutscher Städte und Gemeindetag (German Association of Cities and Municipalities) we are reporting on the latest trends in Morocco.
